IPAF Harness Use and Inspection (H)

What is the course?

The course is based on the proper use of the boom-type MEWP and typically takes half a day to complete.

How is the course taught and assessed?

Lessons will be conducted in a classroom environment, and practical demonstrations will be carried out on an actual MEWP. You will be shown how to properly attach and wear safety harnesses and lanyards while working on an MEWP. You will be required to sit for a written examination, and your overall understanding will be measured by how well you participate during the practical group sessions.

What qualification will I receive?

After successful completion of the course, you will receive the IPAF certificate. Current holders of the IPAF PAL Card will have ‘H’ affixed to it indicating that the qualification has been endorsed for certified Harness use. The certificate is valid for a maximum period of five years before a reassessment is required.

What can I do next?

Once you attained the IPAF Harness Use and Inspection certificate, you can study further to enhance your understanding in this area. The IPAF MEWP for Managers Certification serves as an ideal upgrade to your knowledge, or you may wish to look at other alternative add-ons to your IPAF Operator’s License and PAL Card.
