SMSTS 2 Day Refresher

What is the course?

The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Refresher Course is designed for candidates who have already passed the SMSTS course.

The duration of the course is two days and it is especially designed to update the candidates on all the latest developments in construction legislation & regulation. The course will also advance the candidates’ managerial skills in matters of health and safety in order for them to maintain a safer work environment.

How will the course be presented?

The course teaching and learning experience is highly interactive and the teaching method is based on classroom discussions, case studies, debates. There will also be presentations both as groups and as individuals.

The assessment will be performed continuously from the start of the course and at the end the candidates will need to successfully complete a multiple choice exam.

Who should take this course?

Any working professional within the construction industry is welcome to enroll in this course in order to get updated on the latest health and safety regulations and legislations.

What qualification will the course provide me with?

Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.

Entry requirements

The applicants who wish to attend this course must hold a valid SMSTS certificate that is due to expire. The duration of the SMSTS certificate is five years, after this period the applicants need to renew their certification. A good understanding of written and spoken English is also required.

What can I do next?

After you have successfully completed the SMSTS refresher course, you may want to take the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety. You may also enroll in the Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS).
