How long is the CSCS Test?
The Health, Safety & Environment Test lasts 45 minutes. In the test there will be around 50 questions that you need to answer. If you pass, you’ll receive the ticket straight after the test. You need to keep this certificate as it is valid for two years to apply for a CSCS card. Upon a successful CSCS card application your test validity is extended until the expiry of your CSCS card (usually five years).
What do I need to bring to the test?
Bring your confirmation letter or email and valid (not expired) proof of identity that has your photo and signature. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- UK driving licence card with photo
Photo ID such as British Armed Forces cards, a foreign driving licence or EU country ID card will need additional proof of signature in the form of a National Insurance card,Trade Union card, debit card or credit card.
What is the pass mark for the test?
It varies depending on what test you’re doing but generally you have to score above 90% to pass
Do I need to pass the CSCS Test to get a CSCS Card?
You most certainly do as you can’t apply for a CSCS card unless you have a Health, Safety & Environment Test certificate.
How long is the test certificate valid for?
The test certificate is valid for two years. So if you’re applying for a new CSCS card and you passed the CSCS Test more than two years ago you’ll need to retake your test. However, if you successfully apply for a CSCS card, your health and safety certificate will be extended until your card expires.
