IPAF Product Operator (3a+3b+1b)

What is the course?

Our IAPF (International Powered Access Federation) Product Operator (3a+3b+1b) course ensures you can work competently and safely with:

  • Scissor lifts
  • Trailer mounted boom lifts
  • Self-propelled boom lifts
  • Trailers and pusharounds
  • Vehicle mounted and other aerial work platforms

How is the course taught and assessed?

This course is taught by one of our instructors and completed in one day. We include theory as well as practical training. Following an introduction you’ll take a pre-course theory test. Once training is complete a theory test and practical assessment check your competence.

What qualification will I receive?

By successfully completing our IPAF Product Operator (3a+3b+1b) course you qualify for your IPAF Certificate and IPAF Smart Powered Access Licence (PAL) Card. Your PAL Card is valid for 5 years.

If you already hold a PAL Card, the Mobile Vertical (3a), Mobile Boom (3b) and Static Boom (1b) categories will be added to your PAL Card (the expiry date stays the same).

What can I do next?

When you have your certification on the Mobile Vertical, Mobile Boom and Static Boom you can train for certification on other equipment. We offer a range of courses enabling you to become certified to use a wide range of machinery.

Entry requirements

You must be fluent in written and spoken English to take our IPAF Product Operator (3a+3b+1b) course.
