SITS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme

What is the course?

The SITS (Basic) course lasts for three days and will help develop your understanding of up-to-date legislation and inspection procedures relating to basic access scaffolds.

Course Details

The teaching of the course covers all bases. You’ll be provided with learning tools in the classroom, including computer simulations, and also given team-based practical sessions to take part in over the three-day period.

Assessment takes into consideration both your grades from taken tests and your practical skills evidenced in the team sessions.

At the end of the course, those students who have successfully completed the whole three days will earn a CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (Basic) certificate.

Next Steps

Once you have your SITS (Basic) certificate, you have the right to work towards the SITS (Advanced) certificate. SITS also provides you with the qualifications to apply for a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspector Card (as long as you have completed the course within the last five years).

Entry Requirements

To qualify for entry to this training course the individual must hold one of the following certificates:

  • CCNSG Passport to Safety
  • Offshore Survival Certificate
  • FAS Safe Pass
  • NEBOSH certificate (Within 2 years)
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (Within 2 years)

Alternatively, an individual will qualify for entry to this course should they have passed their CITB HS&E test within two years of taking the course.
