As a site supervisor, it will also make you aware of your legal duties with regard to general welfare and environmental matters.
This is a two day course that will provide you with skills to enable you to correctly look after the health and welfare of tradespeople on site. You will also be shown how to implement risk assessments and put in place suitable measures to prevent dangerous occurrences. Any supervisory skills that you already have will be refreshed and if you are new to the position, it is ideal for providing you with all of the required knowledge.
The tuition will take place in a classroom group environment and will be presented by an experienced professional from the construction industry. Assessment will be made of your general contribution to classroom discussions, group projects and your achievements with regard to individual or group presentations. At the end of the course, you will need to complete a test which will be made up of multiple-choice questions.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive your Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Certificate. This is valid for five years and will need to be renewed before the expiry date by taking part in the SSSTS Refresher course.
In order to be eligible to take the course, you need to have good verbal and written English skills and should be working in a supervisory role.
