This depends. If you have passed the Health, Safety, and Environment test within the past two years, you will not have to retake the exam in order to renew your card. However, if your test certificate has expired, you will need to book a new test in and pass that in order to complete your renewal application. As an additional note, even between renewals, the test must be retaken every two years when the certificate hits its expiration if you want to continue working. This is essential as many places will ask for proof before you can start the job.
